Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy explains what happens to information in FeedKit: Baby Feeding Log (“FeedKit”, “the app”) for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and on this website. “We” and “us” mean the developer of FeedKit.
In short: FeedKit has no accounts and no servers of ours that receive your baby’s data. What you log is stored on your device. If you create or join a family, feeds are shared through iCloud, in the iCloud account of the person who created the family, using Apple’s CloudKit. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
1. Information you enter, stored on your device
To do its job, FeedKit stores what you enter:
- Baby profiles: name, birth date, and optionally a photo you pick from your photo library.
- Feeds: type (breastfeeding side, bottle or solid food), start time, duration, bottle volume, solid food amount, and any notes you write.
- Growth: weight entries, their dates and any notes you add.
- Preferences: favorite feeds and shortcuts, units, time format, language, theme, reminder and notification settings, and which feeding tips you saved.
- Small notes the app keeps for itself: for example when you last had FeedKit open (to show what your family logged while you were away), whether you have used your free report for the doctor, which child you chose on Apple Watch, and how many feeds and days you have logged (to ask once, at a calm moment, whether you would like to rate the app).
This information is stored in the app’s private storage on your device. FeedKit’s widgets read a short summary of it (each baby’s name, the last and next feed, today’s totals, the amount of their usual bottle, any running feed, and your time format) from a storage area on your device that only FeedKit and its widgets use. We cannot see any of it. It is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have those turned on; backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
FeedKit only accesses your photo library when you choose a profile photo, through the system photo picker.
2. Family Sharing through iCloud (optional)
Family Sharing lets parents and caregivers see the same feeds. It is off unless you create or join a family, and it requires being signed in to iCloud. Creating a family requires Premium; the people you invite can join without it. It works through Apple’s CloudKit service:
- When you create a family, FeedKit stores a family record (the family name you choose, its creation date, and the anonymous CloudKit identifier of the person who created it) in a private area of your own iCloud account.
- Your feeds, for every baby on your phone, are copied into that area, and so are the feeds already on the phone of each person who joins. Each shared feed contains its type, time, duration, volume, solid food amount and notes, plus the baby’s name, birth date and a random identifier for the baby, so each device can match it to the right baby. Baby photos and weights are not shared.
- While a feed timer is running on a family member’s phone, FeedKit also stores a temporary record in that area with the feed type, its start time, the baby’s name, birth date and random identifier, a random identifier for that phone, and the name iCloud shows for the person who started it, so the others can see the feed is already under way. It is removed when the feed ends.
- That area is shared through an iCloud invite link. Anyone who has the link and is signed in to iCloud can join, so send it only to people you trust. Members can read, add, change and delete feeds, and a change or deletion reaches every phone in the family. Members can see who else is in the family as identified by iCloud.
- The person who created the family can remove a member. The removed person stops receiving the family’s feeds; the feeds they logged stay in the family, and feeds already on their phone stay there. The invite link keeps working while the family exists, so someone who still has it could join again. To close the link, the creator has to leave the family, which deletes it, and create a new one.
- If you open an invite while your phone already shares feeds with a family, FeedKit asks before you join. Joining stops sharing with the first family. If you created that family, it is not deleted: it stays in your iCloud for its other members, but you no longer manage it from that phone.
- If you created the family and choose Leave Family, the shared family data is deleted from iCloud for everyone. If you joined someone else’s family and leave, you stop receiving it, and the feeds you added stay in the family. Feeds already copied to a phone stay on that phone.
Data stored in iCloud is held by Apple, counts toward the family creator’s iCloud storage, and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We do not operate this storage and have no access to its contents.
3. Apple Watch (Premium)
The Apple Watch app exchanges feeds, favorites, a running feed timer and the start, switch and stop commands you give it, your unit and time format, and whether Premium is active with your paired iPhone, together with the name of the selected baby and their last and next feed. With two or more babies, it also receives each baby’s name, last and next feed, suggested side and usual bottle amount, so you can choose which child you are logging for. This happens using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. The watch keeps a copy of this to show when your iPhone is out of reach. This information does not pass through our servers.
4. Subscriptions and payments
FeedKit Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your name, email address or payment details. The app uses Apple’s StoreKit on your device to check whether your subscription is active, and whether your Apple Account can still get a free trial, so the trial is only offered when it applies. Apple provides developers with sales and subscription reports that do not identify you personally.
5. Notifications, widgets, Live Activities and Siri
Feeding reminders, including smart reminders, and the daily summary are scheduled locally on your device, based on your feed history, using iOS notifications. If you start a free trial, FeedKit also schedules a local reminder 2 days before it ends, from the end date StoreKit reports. The running feed on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island is a Live Activity displayed by iOS. Reminders, widgets and the Live Activity can show your baby’s name and feed details on your Lock Screen. FeedKit’s Siri and Shortcuts actions (start, switch or stop a feed, log a bottle, ask when the last feed was) also work while your iPhone is locked, and answer with your baby’s name and feed details. Siri requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not send notifications from servers of our own.
6. Advertising, analytics and tracking
FeedKit contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no third-party crash reporting. It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier.
Once, at a calm moment, FeedKit may show Apple’s own rating request. To choose the moment it counts your logged feeds and days on your device; the request itself is handled by Apple, and FeedKit sends nothing. The Rate FeedKit row in Settings opens the App Store. The NapKit row opens Apple’s App Store sheet for our baby sleep app, marked with a campaign name that only shows up in the aggregated download statistics Apple gives developers.
If you have chosen in iOS settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under Apple’s terms. That sharing is controlled by you and handled by Apple.
7. Exports, shared tips and the AI analysis prompt
Exports (the spreadsheet of your feeds and the report for your doctor), sharing a feeding tip, and the AI Feeding Analysis prompt are all created on your device. They leave it only when you choose to share them, for example through Mail, Messages, AirDrop or Files, or by pasting the prompt into an AI assistant of your choice. FeedKit does not send the prompt anywhere itself.
An export can include your baby’s name, age, weight, feeding details and notes. The AI prompt includes your baby’s age, weight and feeding details, but not their name. Once you share it, the recipient’s or service’s own privacy practices apply, so review what you share.
8. When you contact us
If you email support@feedkit.net, including through Contact Us in the app, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to help you, and keep it only as long as needed for that and for our records.
9. This website
feedkit.net is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the site, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
10. Keeping and deleting your data
Your FeedKit data stays on your device until you delete it:
- Swipe a feed in History to delete it. If you are in a family, it is also deleted from iCloud and from the other phones in the family.
- Delete a baby profile to remove that baby and every feed and weight entry recorded for them from this device. If you are in a family, that baby’s feeds are also deleted from iCloud and from the other phones in the family.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device. Existing device backups are managed in your Apple settings.
- If you use Family Sharing, choose Leave Family before deleting the app, as described in section 2.
Because we do not hold a copy of your app data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information, and to complain to a data protection authority. For information in the app, you exercise these directly on your device and in your Apple Account. For anything you have sent us by email, contact us and we will help.
12. Children
FeedKit is meant for parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information about a baby is entered by their parent or caregiver and stays under that person’s control as described above.
13. Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS security, including encryption when you set a passcode. Data in iCloud is protected by Apple’s security measures. No method of storage is completely secure, so keep your device and Apple Account protected.
14. Changes to this policy
If the way FeedKit handles information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app or in the release notes.
